Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has resumed shooting for his upcoming film Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. For the shoot, the actor flew to Goa on Tuesday and surprised everyone by opting to travel in the economy section of the flight. Videos of the superstar seated among fellow passengers have since gone viral on social media.
Passengers on Rajinikanth's flight were thrilled to see him onboard. In a video circulating online, the actor is seen sitting by the window seat in the front row of the economy class, waving and smiling as co-passengers cheer, clap, and whistle. Many fans also took out their phones to record the memorable moment.
Before heading to Goa, Rajinikanth reportedly visited the Swami Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh to pay tribute to the spiritual leader. He is said to have meditated along the banks of the Ganga and participated in the Ganga Aarti. Later, the 2.0 star also travelled to Dwarahat.
Viral images showed the superstar dressed in white, sitting by the roadside and eating a simple meal served on leaf plates, and interacting with locals and priests at the ashram.
Meanwhile, Sun Pictures, the makers of Jailer 2, shared an exclusive BTS (behind-the-scenes) video from the film's sets as a Diwali treat for fans. The clip shows director Nelson and music director Anirudh Ravichander sharing laughs during the making of the announcement video, with Rajinikanth also seen suggesting shot ideas.
Like its predecessor, Jailer 2 will be directed by Nelson with music by Anirudh. The sequel promises high-octane action, following the massive success of Jailer, which grossed over Rs 650 crore worldwide.
Jailer 1, which opened to positive reviews, took a strong opening. In fact, the film's overseas distributor Ayngaran International confirmed that the film had made a whopping 33 crores on its very first day, the highest in Superstar Rajinikanth's career!
Apart from Rajinikanth, Jailer 1 also featured Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, Telugu actor Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Mirna Menon, Tamannaah, Vasanth Ravi, Naga Babu, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq and Kishore among others. It had music by Anirudh and cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan.
