'Raju has faith in me': Arshad Warsi on third collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani

Actor Arshad Warsi has opened up about his long-standing association with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, expressing gratitude for the opportunities the acclaimed director has given him throughout his career.

The actor, who is set to star in Hirani's upcoming streaming series Pritam and Pedro, spoke about the trust the filmmaker has placed in him over the years and how that has helped him explore different facets of his craft.

Arshad and Hirani have previously collaborated on some of the filmmaker's most loved projects, and the actor says he continues to cherish every opportunity to work with him.

Speaking about their professional relationship, Arshad shared, "I think all actors who get a chance to work with Raju are blessed really. I have been fortunate to do that twice and this is the third time. I think Raju has a little faith in me as an actor. He gives me various things to do. And I like it, I enjoy it. I am waiting for some more to come."

The actor's comments come ahead of the release of Pritam and Pedro, which marks Hirani's debut in the streaming space.

The series is an oddball comedy that brings together a stellar ensemble cast, including Vikrant Massey, Boman Irani, Mona Singh and Arshad Warsi.

Apart from marking Hirani's OTT debut, the show is also special because it introduces the filmmaker's son, Vir Hirani, as an actor.

Directed by Avinash Arun and created and produced by Rajkumar Hirani, Pritam and Pedro will premiere on JioHotstar on July 3.

Earlier, Arshad had spoken about why the project holds a special place in his heart. "Pritam And Pedro is special to me in multiple ways. For starters, I love working with Raju. He means a lot to me. In a way, he started my career and he helped me restart my career," he said.

The actor also reflected on sharing screen space with Vir Hirani, adding, "I never imagined the little boy I was holding in my arms, one day we would be sharing the screen together."

While keeping details about his character under wraps, Arshad teased audiences about Pedro, saying he is unlike anyone he has ever met in real life.

With a quirky premise, a celebrated creative team and a cast led by some of Bollywood's most loved performers, Pritam and Pedro is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated OTT releases of the month.
