MRVC completes major infrastructure works in Mumbai's Kalyan–Badlapur section during night block

During the coordinated night block, MRVC launched multiple girders and dismantled old foot overbridges between Kalyan and Badlapur to upgrade suburban rail infrastructure

The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) successfully completed several key infrastructure works in the Kalyan-Badlapur section during a 90-minute night block between 2.15 am and 3.45 am on Saturday.

According to MRVC, during the coordinated night operation, saw the launching of four girders for the MIDC Road Overbridge (ROB), five girders for the Ambernath (Kalyan-end) Foot Overbridge (FOB), and the dismantling of the Badlapur FOB as well as both spans of the Ambernath (Karjat-end) FOB.

All the four girders of the MIDC bridge were constructed by 3.21 am, MRVC said in a press release, adding that bracing work above the track portion is currently in progress.

These works were carried out with meticulous planning and close coordination between MRVC and Central Railway, ensuring safe and timely completion within the allotted block period, the press release stated.

The corporation said the completion of these critical activities marks another step forward in its efforts to enhance passenger safety, improve station infrastructure, and expedite the execution of projects under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP).
