Passengers with full tickets, (excluding concessionary passengers) who make advance reservations for long- and medium distance (more than 150 km) journeys on state transport buses in Maharashtra, will be given a 15 percent discount on their ticket fare from Tuesday, July 1.
"This scheme is starting from July 1 and will continue throughout the year, except during the peak seasons of Diwali and summer holidays," Transport Minister and Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) Chairman Pratap Sarnaik said.
On June 1, on the occasion of MSRTC's 77th anniversary, Sarnaik had announced that passengers travelling by long-distance buses during will be given a 15 percent discount on their tickets if they make advance reservations. Accordingly, this scheme is being implemented for all types of buses from July 1.
Passengers who have made advance reservations for the upcoming Ashadhi Ekadashi and Ganapati festival can take advantage of this scheme. If passengers make reservations for regular buses going to Pandharpur from across the state, they will get a 15 percent discount on their ticket fare from July 1. However, this discount will not be applicable for extra buses.
