Several parts of Maharashtra are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and light to moderate rainfall over the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has issued weather warnings for multiple districts across Vidarbha and Marathwada, even as heatwave-like conditions continue in several regions of the state.
Districts including Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph at isolated places.
The IMD also warned that some districts may witness hailstorms and stronger winds reaching up to 50-60 kmph during thunderstorm activity.

Isolated places may witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds ranging between 30 and 50 kmph.
The IMD said rainfall activity is likely to remain intermittent, with dry conditions expected in some districts towards the latter part of the forecast period.
Meanwhile, several parts of Maharashtra continued to reel under intense heat on Saturday, with Chandrapur recording the highest maximum temperature in the state at a scorching 44.8 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
Other Vidarbha districts also witnessed severe heat conditions, with Gondia registering 44.4 degrees Celsius, Nagpur 42.1 degrees Celsius, Akola 41.8 degrees Celsius, and Amravati 41.4 degrees Celsius.
Wardha recorded 42.5 degrees Celsius, while Yavatmal touched 42.8 degrees Celsius.
Mumbai, too, experienced hot and humid weather, with Santacruz recording a maximum temperature of 35.3 degrees Celsius and Colaba 35.6 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures in the city hovered at 28-29 degrees Celsius.
In western Maharashtra, Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 36.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.7 degrees Celsius.
In Marathwada, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar recorded 38 degrees Celsius, while Parbhani touched 41.1 degrees Celsius. Beed registered 38.8 degrees Celsius.
In north Maharashtra, Jalgaon recorded 41.2 degrees Celsius, Malegaon 38.8 degrees Celsius, and Dhule 37.4 degrees Celsius, indicating continued heatwave-like conditions across several inland regions.
The IMD said rainfall activity remained largely subdued across the state.
Meanwhile, Mahabaleshwar reported the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 19.4 degrees Celsius, offering comparatively cooler conditions than the rest of Maharashtra.
