It's My Time, trained by Dallas Todywalla, decisively won the Kailashpat Singhania Trophy, the feature event of Thursday's seven-race card at the Mahalaxmi racetrack. Jockey Trevor Patel, who rode the winner, took a smart jump from the gates and initially settled It's My Time behind the leader, Lord And Master, then challenged and overpowered him midway in the homestretch. Pride's Angel finished on to take up the runner-up berth.

In the M D Mehta Trophy for maiden 3y old horses, jockey Kirtish Bhagat astride the Pesi Shroff-trained colt Vincero (Leitir Mor - Rhinefall) moved up like a bullet in the final 20 yards to stun the warring duo of Aperol (CS Jodha up) and Fast Approach (Neeraj Rawal up).

The card opened with the Samuel Nathan Plate, a bottom class race over mile-and-a-half trip, in which public fancy Floyd, trained by Behram Cama and ridden by TS Jodha, let Leo The Lion (N Bhosale up) call the shots all the way until the two-furlong marker before passing him to post an authoritative victory.

The next two races were won by the trainer-jockey pair of MK Jadhav and NS Parmar: Exuma, after a brief battle with Regal Command (Bhavani Singh up), kicked on to grab the P R Mehta Trophy; and Decacorn outclassed his 11 rivals to claim the lower division of the Pradeep Vijaykar Plate. The upper division of the same race was won by trainer SK Sunderji's Dream Seller (R Ajinkya up) who left his hapless rivals stone cold.

Trainer HJ Antia pulled off a massively successful gamble in the Polish Patriot Plate --and a courageous one at that if you consider that the jockey declared to ride, R Shelar, wins with the frequency of rainfall in the desert. The trainer's supporters backed Hagibis to the exclusion of all rivals, hammering down the odds on the 5y old to 6/4 at race time. To the credit of R Shelar, despite a less than perfect start, he rode like one possessed to make sure the gamble paid off.
