For Chef Mukhtar Qureshi, Ramzan becomes a quiet departure from the excess, turning instead toward intention, restraint and meaning. It is a way of living, shaped by reflection and generosity.
In Lucknow, the city of tehzeeb, that Qureshi hails from, both sehri and iftar is not about abundance but about balance and grace. Iftar usually begins with sharing, often with neighbours, and unfolds gently, where each dish is prepared with care and eaten with presence. "The table becomes less about display and more about dignity, generosity and the simple act of coming together," he tells us. It's time we bring back that simplicity and share meals with our loved ones.
