I like a guy a lot, but he has some issues that bother me a little, such as his anger and his inability to be kind on some days. We have gone out on a few dates, and I still don't know if I should stay away from him or spend more time getting to know him better before I think about where this can go. I know he likes me and I can definitely see the chemistry between us, but I have been hurt in the past and have promised myself that I will only be with someone who is kind and who meets most of my requirements. What should I use as a parameter to figure out if this person is worth taking any kind of risk with?
You appear to have a list of things that are important and that should be non-negotiable when it comes to a future relationship. That list is all that matters when it comes to evaluating someone, because it is based on your real-life experiences. This may be a great person, but your body and mind are also constantly giving you signs and feeding you with information that you shouldn't ignore. You are under no obligation to continue dating this person if you don't want to, but you can also give yourself time to understand him better because that is precisely what dating is about. Talk about what bothers you, ask more questions, and see how he reacts to things that matter. If you spot more red flags, take them seriously and stop meeting him when you feel you have seen enough. There's no point giving someone the benefit of doubt for too long because actions will always speak louder than words.

My sister and her boyfriend are causing a rift in our family because we don't think he is good for her. How do we get her to see this?
