I have a crush on a guy who is currently dating someone else. We have known each other for a long time and have been flirting online and offline for years, but have never dated because we have always been in relationships with other people. I am currently single and recently sent him a flirtatious message on Facebook. He responded and we have been chatting there for a few days. He wants to meet me for coffee, but my friends are telling me this is a bad idea because he is with someone. They think he isn't trustworthy because if he can meet me for coffee, it's possible that he can cheat on me some day, too. I don't know what to do. I genuinely like him and think it's okay to meet for coffee just to see what he wants or find out more about his relationship. Should I meet him?
Your friends have a valid argument, but so do you. It's strange that he would agree to flirt with you while being with someone though, so you should keep that in mind if and when you do meet him. If it's just coffee and gives you both a chance to openly talk about what you have been skirting around for years, it may be just what you both need. If it's more than coffee, while he's in a relationship, that should be treated as a red flag.
Should I convince my girlfriend to quit her job just because her office has a lot of good-looking men? I know she won't cheat on me, but this makes me very insecure, and I am always worried about her leaving me for someone else. I know it's unfair but it's affecting our relationship. What should I do?
If you don't trust her, where she meets someone else is irrelevant. You can't control her life or career and claim to be a supportive and trusting partner. It's your insecurity, and you have to find a way of dealing with it.
