Bigg Boss 19: Amaal Mallik reveals he is suffering from sleep apnea

Amaal Mallik, a music director and composer, is presently a competitor on Bigg Boss 19. During one of the sessions, Amaal discussed his struggles with sleep apnea and how he uses a CPAP machine to treat the symptoms. Here's everything you need know about Amaal's illness and the machine she used. Sleep apnea is a condition in which breathing stops and begins often during sleep. This can diminish the body's oxygen levels. In a recent Instagram post, Dr. Meghali Diwaker, BDS and MDS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) evaluated the tape from the episode and noted, "Some people have a disease called obstructive sleep apnea in which the throat muscles relax too much while they sleep. This restricts the airway, causing the person to cease breathing for a few seconds. This can also occur dozens of times per night. "It looks strange, but the mask keeps him alive while he sleeps." Amaal speaks about his condition Looking at the machine Amaal was using on the broadcast, she explained, "For this, a device known as a CPAP machine is employed. It produces a mild stream of air that maintains the airway open, allowing the person to breathe freely and sleep soundly. If this condition is not treated effectively, it can lead to excessive weariness, high blood pressure, heart difficulties, and even an increased risk of stroke. The intriguing thing is that most individuals are unaware they have it. Regarding sleep apnea, Amaal stated, "I have a sleeping disorder, so people may have to deal with my snoring problems." He went on to say, "I believe that happened because I found success a little too early." Details on sleep apnea According to yet another specialist, Dr Sheetal Radia, “To deal with sleep apnea, patients can use intra-oral devices like mandibular advancement devices and tongue retention devices or CPAP or Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) machines. Patients who have obstructive sleep apnea can opt for surgery, which will offer a permanent solution to the problem, including nasal surgeries like septoplasty or polypectomy to avoid nasal obstruction. The other surgeries are Maxillomandibular Advancement Osteotomy, Tonsillectomy and Uvulopalatal Pharyngoplasty for removing airway obstruction.”

Akshay Kumar shares why it is important to finish dinner by 6.30 PM

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar leads a disciplined life, and it is no secret.  The actor is known for his early wake-up calls, no late-night parties and eating healthy at all times. Recently, the actor spoke about the benefits of finishing dinner by 6.30 PM. He also revealed that he fasts on Monday. During a book launch event, the Kesari 2 actor spoke about his healthy habit of finishing dinner early. Akshay Kumar on eating early dinner The Bollywood star spoke to the people present at the event and said that it is important to eat early so your stomach gets ample rest.  “Why is it important to eat at 6.30 in the evening? It is very important for your body because when we go to sleep at night, our eyes are resting, our legs are resting, our hands are resting, every part of our body is resting," he said and added, "But what is not resting is your stomach because we have eaten food late.” “By the time you get up, it is time for him to relax. But when we get up, we eat our breakfast, and again the poor stomach is working… I am explaining it in a very very simple way and you all know, you all know that the stomach, all the diseases come from there," he added explaining in lay terms why it is extremely important to eat the last meal of the day much before bedtime.  He said that it is important to take care of the stomach. “I think the diseases will not come near you. So this is what I always follow. So it is important to eat at 6.30 because you get your time to digest your food and by the time you are about to sleep, by 9, 9.30, 10 o'clock, the stomach is completely ready to rest and that's it. So it is a very simple thing." The actor then went on to reveal that he fasts on a Monday. “I fast on Mondays. Yes, full day fast. Sunday is the last meal, and then after that Monday full day fast till Tuesday morning,” he said. Akshay Kumar's work front The actor was last seen in the film Kesari: Chapter 2 and Housefull 5. He is now gearing up for his third theatrical release of the year- Jolly LLB 3. He will be returning as the fun lawyer Jagdish Mishra aka Jolly. This time joining him will be Arshad Warsi, who played Jolly in first part of the courtroom franchise. After Jolly LLB 3, Akshay will be seen in Welcome To The Jungle. Keerthy Suresh recalls losing 9 kilos with only cardio: 'I was looking very thin

Actress Keerthy Suresh, who works extensively in South cinema, has spoken about her rapid weight loss journey in 2018–19. In an interview, Keerthy revealed that she lost weight by doing only cardio. However, after learning the benefits of strength training, she began focusing on a more balanced fitness routine. Keerthy Suresh on how she lost weight Speaking to Galatta.com about her fitness journey in 2018, Keerthy said, “I was very chubby. I was a little built… wouldn’t say fat. I am not a very fat person. I did a lot of cardio. When you engage in a lot of cardio, you can lose muscle. So, without strength training, I just did cardio. I lost weight quickly.” Keerthy revealed that she lost nearly 9 kilos in a period of 8–9 months. “That’s when my face looked sculpted. I agree, I was looking very thin at that time because when I saw pictures from 2019, my face looked so emaciated. It was because I was not working out in my life. I was just sleeping, eating, working, coming back home, and sleeping again, and then repeating. I didn’t do any workout. Is that good for health? No! In 2018, I got a break after my film Mahanati, which is when I realised I needed to work out.” Keerthy Suresh's work front The National Award-winning actress was last seen in the Prime Video original movie Uppu Kappurambu, a Telugu satirical film. Keerthy plays a reluctant village chief navigating an unusual crisis- a bizarre shortage of burial space. A clever social satire, wrapped in humour and rooted storytelling, the film has been praised for its unique premise, eccentric tone, and heartfelt performances from a seasoned cast. Uppu Kappurambu is set in a fictional South Indian village where the dead are outnumbered by bureaucracy, and burial plots are in short supply. Keerthy Suresh was also seen in the Bollywood film Baby John last year. Her next Hindi film will be produced by Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, and will also star Rajkummar Rao. Gauahar Khan reveals how she lost postpartum weight in 10 days

Managing weight postpartum can take its own time and B-tows actresses have often been vocal about their experiences. Actress Gauahar Khan, who embraced motherhood in 2023, had shared how she lost 10 kgs in 10 days after giving birth to son Zehaan. She now shared how she followed a strict diet despite breastfeeding, as she wanted to appear on screen. Gauahar Khan on losing postpartum weight The Bigg Boss actress had appeared as host on Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa 11 few months after embracing motherhood. Speaking on The Debina Bonnerjee Show, she said, "I was conscious that I'm going to be on screen again, and I can't take that lightly. For six months, I breastfed but I was not exclusively breastfeeding; I was also using formula. But for those six months, I didn't take care of my food that much as I was breastfeeding and I had that responsibility. I was eating normal food, keeping in mind the carbohydrates, fat and protein content needed for Zehaan." Gauahar revealed that after six months of giving birth to Zehaan, she decided to wean him off breast milk and made drastic changes to her diet to quickly lose weight. She said, "Six months after his birth, I decided to wean him off breast milk and from that day I went on an only salad diet. My diet was only leaves and soup. I zipped my mouth. I literally did. I was not on a diet. I was eating things properly, but it used to be salads and soup form. I left non-veg. I left mutton. It is my most favourite thing to eat, but I left it because it is high in calories. She revealed, "Everything that Kareena Kapoor eats is all there in my first book. Since 2007, when we met, her diet has been the same. She eats dry fruits like almonds, raisins or figs as soon as she wakes up; paratha or poha for breakfast; dal and rice for lunch; sometimes cheese toast or mango/mango milkshake for evening snack and khichdi with ghee or pulao for her dinner." She further revealed that, 'she mostly eats khichdi with ghee for 4-5 days for dinner." Kareena had also shared while attending Diwekar's book launch, where she spoke about her disciplined routine, she said, "Dinner by 6 pm, lights out by 9:30 pm, morning workouts before the world wakes up." Kareena's love for parathas Kareena also recalled the weirdest rumours she has come across about her diets, "The most joyfully ridiculous rumour I’ve heard about myself is that I eat quinoa and air to maintain my figure,” she added while talking to Hollywood Reporter. In the same chat, Kareena and Vicky Kaushal had bonded over their mutual Punjabi love for parathas.
