Last month, mid-day reported that Ananya Panday was ready to step into her ‘Bae' avatar once again (Bae's here again to slay, October 27), as Call Me Bae season two was set to go on floors by November-end. But it looks like Bae couldn't wait that long. mid-day has learnt that the actor has already begun filming for the new season of the Prime Video coming-of-age dramedy series.

Karan Johar

"The team took the second edition to floors earlier this week in Mumbai with Collin D'Cunha back in the director's chair. It's a homecoming for the whole team, which is reuniting after a year," a source shares.

Besides Panday, the rest of the primary cast, including Gurfateh Pirzada, Vir Das, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, and Niharika Lyra Dutt, will also reprise their roles. "Right now, Ananya has begun shooting. Soon she will be joined by Vir and others. There are also likely to be new additions to the cast, which the makers want to keep under-wraps" informs another insider.

Like its inaugural season, Call Me Bae 2 will have eight episodes. The source adds, "The idea is to take [the show] notches higher. And there will of course be sisterhood, which also formed the core of Call Me Bae." The new season is expected to release in the second half of 2026.
