One weekend every month, chef Hemal Shah's home overlooking Powai Lake transforms into an intimate dining experience for just eight guests. Over a curated seven-course tasting menu paired with wine, the evening flows with immersive storytelling and conversations.

Shah also runs a cooking studio where guests learn restaurant-quality recipes and master techniques. She started the club in May this year, and since then, every edition is inspired by memories, travel, and human connection. "An interactive game is woven into the dinner. Guests solve a Hangman-style puzzle using clues hidden within each course. It encourages guests to engage with every dish," she says. While her July session wrapped up over the weekend, a little birdie told us that we should roll out the news for the next installment in August soon, because seats get filled up quickly.

"The cuisine has hints of Asian, Indian and global influences. While Shah doesn't reveal all the dishes, guests begin with an edible Undhiyu Butter Candle served alongside freshly baked Thepla Brioche, followed by six other courses including a sushi-inspired course, a delicate miso and sweet corn creation, a course celebrating her Kashmiri heritage. "S-LICK - my signature palate-reset course is a coastal-inspired course paying homage to India's West Coast, where I grew up," she says. The upcoming edition, from August to October, will be inspired by her Gujarati and Kashmiri roots, and times spent in Mumbai, Delhi, New York and Seoul. Enough reason to sign up.
